Do you remember your first job? It was your boss that hired you but they also managed you and what you did every day at work too! They started at one point in the same position that you did and if you’re like most managers today, you probably started this training on your first job whether it was for that or not. This training early in your career was extremely vital to where you are now and was even developed from other managers around you or those you have established for yourself.
In management you have to motivate, lead and effectively manage others. All managers must recruit, train, inspire the team, no matter how unreasonable or unrealistic the targets are. Those around you are looking up to you to take them under your wing and guide them. It has been said many times before that a promotion to management can easily kill a budding career. The chances for yours to be successful is when you lead with confidence, support others, don’t let your head get too big and use a management system that successfully works with the culture of the management team.
